Project 3: TRDF

The key idea

Teaching trade-offs with interaction

Using chat.gpt, I was able to create a code which helped to create a budget for 8 groups of students for which there can be a screeen to show the budget and expediture of each student. There will be two links, one for the original idea and one for the one I will be using in class.

How it goes:
1. The teacher and students will go to the landing page and key in the right password to access the respective pages.
2. The teacher's will have universal display of all groups and the ability to type an "item" and a corresponding "price". The student's page will have access to only their group's resource, but can view added items.
3. When the teacher keys in an item and price, and presses "add item", the item will be added to the teacher's page and that of all groups page.
4. Students can decide if they want to purchase that item by clicking the red button with a spend item sign.
5. Should the student run out of money, the group will no longer be allowed to spend.
6. The teacher can reset with the reset button, or add money by putting nothing in the "item" and "-XXX"(XXX denoting the value to be added).

This tool can be used as per above, but it can also be used for teaching budgeting or perhaps even accounting.
