The central idea is to have a graph to chart Hitler's rise throughout the interwar years. This is part of a large lesson which involves the thought experiment of choosing a perfect time to assassinate Hitler.
The premise of the activity is that Hitler should only be justifiably assassinated if he is:
1. No too popular such that his ideology will continue after his death and Hitler will serve as a martyr
2. Dangerous enough such that others will not blame the assassin for the murder, belieiving his ideology to be too deadly.
I put this two assumptions at odd with each other as it will surface the true inquiry question of the activity which is: "When did Hitler actually "rise" to power". The activity assumes that rise occurs when Hitler's ideology become ingrained into the psyche of the German people either by choice or by force.
